Past Performers

A proud musical heritage at the Federal Hotel, Nimmitabel.

The Federal Hotel has long been a focus for culture and the arts, especially music. From orchestras at masquerade balls to jazz and blues combos, country artists and folk acts, our historic venue has seen it all.

The Tudor Inn Years

During the 1950s–1970s, when the hotel was known as the Tudor Inn, it became a stop for touring artists travelling between Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, or performing on regional weekend tours. Many played during the leaner years of their careers, performing for drinks, meals, accommodation and door money. Sometimes the hotel was packed; at other times, small crowds enjoyed the rare chance to see and meet these accomplished performers in an intimate setting.
