About the Hotel

The Federal Hotel Nimmitabel is a heritage-listed hotel offering accommodation, a bar, bistro and entertainment. It welcomes the Nimmitabel community and the surrounding Monaro region in south-eastern New South Wales.

Situated where the Monaro and Snowy Mountains highways meet, the hotel is midway between Melbourne and Sydney, and just 90 minutes south of Canberra. It is a wonderful base for exploring the South Coast beaches, the forests of South East National Park and the Snowy Mountains.

At an elevation of around 1,100 metres, the Federal Hotel Nimmitabel is Australia’s highest continuously licensed hotel, with a story spanning three centuries: the 1800s, 1900s and 2000s.
